There are golf courses for every level of player, with 4 courses within easy reach of the cottage - and many more just a short distance beyond. Mazamet is one of the most beautiful courses in the Midi-Pyrenees, whilst Palmola is one of the most challenging. Lasbordes in Albi is stunning and varied.
Come to compete in the Triathlon of Toulouse, or use us as a base for training - all elements for pushing triathlon fitness are at hand.
This bit of France provides for an array of cycling tastes and levels - from exploring along the rural roads direct from the cottage, meandering down the cycle path along the Canal du Midi or off-roading on a mountain bike to such extremes as tackling an etape of the Tour du France in the Pyrenees.
The quiet roads, clean air and varied countryside make it ideal cycling country.
Walking & Hiking
The area is criss-crossed with a network of trails, including some long distance GR routes. For an easy stroll, there are a couple of lakes within easy walking distance of the cottage.
And for something more intrepid the Montagne Noire rise up to a height or 1,200 metres, a wilderness blessed with breathtaking scenery. Wooded slopes and pastures.
Further afield are the snow capped mountains of the Pyrenees.
Fishing & Hunting
The Tarn river is a popular spot for both coarse and fly fishing. It has the largest population of carp and catfish in France. Additionally there are mountain lakes and picturesque streams. Wild trout.Nighttime fishing for carp. Fishing lakes abound - such as Lac St Ferreol and Lac Geignes.
There is a private hunting estate not too far away - the Mallards of Sabournac.
We have negotiated temporary memberships / reduced prices for our guests at the gym in nearby Lavaur. The gym holds regular Les Mills classes including BodyPump, BodyCombat and RPM as well as Zumba and Step. There is also a fully equipped fitness rooms. Vitalys
Water is everywhere in the Tarn: swimming pools, lakes, ponds, rivers. Windsurfing and canoeing take place on Lac St Ferreol. Canoes can be rented to descend the canyon of the Gorges du Tarn.
Horse riding is a great way to explore the forests woods and mountains of the Tarn countryside and there are more than 1,200km of clearly signposted riding trails. Other sports include gliding, tennis, white water rafting, quad biking... the list of additional sports activities goes on and on.
